A unique lantern

1Malaysia will be held
at the LG2 Blue Entrance
in Sunway Pyramid
shopping centre,
Petaling Jaya, on Sept
18 at 7pm.
The event is organised
by the MCA Kelana Jaya
parliament liaison
office and MCA Kelana
Jaya in collaboration
with Sunway Pyramid.
Kelana Jaya

She said it would be
good for all races to
come together and
celebrate the lantern
festival.
“About 1,200 lanterns
will be distributed and
the parade will be led
by a dragon into the
mall.
“Children from homes and
kindergartens will be
taking part in the
event,” she said, adding
that 140 goodie bags
will be given out to the
children.
Ong urged all community
leaders and the public
to attend the
celebration.
She added that the
Mid-Autumn Festival was
not only celebrated in
this country but also in
Japan, South Korea and
Vietnam.
Sunway IFM Sdn Bhd
(retail division)
director of marketing
Phang Sau Lian said
5,000 flyers on the
programme would be
distributed.
She said this was the
second time the mall had
collaborated with MCA.
“About 20% of our mall
patrons are tourists and
this will be a great
experience for them.
“The celebration is
important and we always
support community
festival programmes,”
she added.
