Dance for charity event in Subang Jaya attracts
500 participants
MORE
than 500 participants and volunteers gathered at
Subang Avenue, Subang Jaya last Sunday for an
event called “Let’s Dance for Charity”.
The event, themed “Dance with a Golden Heart,
Are You with Us?”, was organised by the Kelana
Jaya parliamentary liaison office.
Its co-organisers were the Women Development
Organisation Of Malaysia (Subang Jaya) and Sam &
Grace USJ5 Dance Group while the main sponsor
was One Community Worldwide Sdn Bhd.
Kelana Jaya parliamentary liaison officer and
Kelana Jaya MCA division chairman Ong Chong Swen
was the guest of honour.
Dance meets charity: Everyone had a blast at the
event.
In her speech, Ong noted that even though the
Kelana Jaya parliamentary constituency,
particularly the Subang Jaya and Bandar Sunway
townships, were deemed to be middle class areas,
there were still some residents who were
struggling to make ends meet.
She praised the two NGOs who were also the
event’s co-organisers for their efforts in
organising the event, as well as the
participants, who travelled from far and near to
pursue their passion for dancing and
contributing to charity.
She urged the participants and volunteers to
continue their social responsibility efforts by
making this community project their own and
being proud of it.
Ong thanked all those who had helped contribute
to event, including Deputy Information,
Communications and Culture Minister Heng Seai
Kie who made arrangements for the boxes of food
stuff, Sime Darby Brunfield Property sponsor
the venue, Ginvera Marketing Sdn Bhd sponsored
the door gifts and food sponsors are A-Clouet &
Co.& dancers.
Eighteen families from the Kelana Jaya
parliamentary constituency were selected to
received RM250 and a box of foodstuff each at
the event.
The funds were raised from the sale of tickets
to the event, while the Women Family and
Community Development Ministry contributed the
boxes of foodstuff.
