Mother’s Day marked with host of activities
MOTHERS from several blocks of
flats in Desa Mentari were feted during a
community sports carnival held in conjunction
with Mother’s Day at Padang Desa Mentari in PJS
6, Petaling Jaya.
The event organised by Wawasan
Service Club (Kelab Khidmat Wawasan) saw the
participation of over 100 mothers in various
sports activities and a dancing competition.
Their children were also present
to cheer the mothers on throughout the carnival.
It was a day filled with fun and laughter as
mothers enjoyed a day out with good food and
company
Kelana Jaya parliamentary liaison
officer Ong Chong Swen, who was accompanied by
Subang Jaya state liaison officer Gan Meng Foo,
officiated at the event.

Meanwhile,
the Desa Mentari Flats Association also
organised a “1Malaysia Desa Mentari Community
Sports” event in early May at the same site.
The event
attracted a crowd of over 600.
It was also
a day for children and adults alike to enjoy
themselves as they participated in the various
sports programmes that were held.
The event
was launched by Seri Setia state liaison officer
Datuk Abdul Halim Samad and closed by Ong.
