Kelana Jaya MCA gives out items to promote
1Malaysia
SOME 500
bright yellow-and- red 1Malaysia bags were
distri-buted by a team from the Kelana Jaya MCA
to the Subang Jaya community last weekend (Aug
14), ahead of National Day on Aug 31.
The bags
were distributed to motorists near a bus stop in
front of Carrefour in Subang Jaya.
Kelana Jaya
parliamentary liaison officer Ong Chong Swen
said each bag contained a mini Jalur Gemilang
flag (to be placed onto the car exterior), a
1Malaysia sticker, as well as two posters and a
booklet highlighting the Federal Government’s
1Malaysia programmes.

a taxi.
“We hope to
promote the Merdeka spirit among Subang Jaya
residents and shoppers,” she said.
As the
country gears up to mark its 54th National Day
this year, Ong said it was also a time to remind
ourselves of how the country gained its
independence through the efforts of all races
and to appreciate the efforts of our
forefathers.
“We,
especially those from the younger generation,
should remember that the nation’s history not
only traces back to the events that led to
National Day, but beyond that to the Japanese
occupation and British colonialism,” she said.
“At the end
of the day, we want to highlight the message
that we should continue fostering unity and
cooperation so we can live harmoniously.”
